Cryptids of Maine is a series of original art prints and postcards illustrated by me celebrating the state’s most fascinating folklore. The back of each piece tells the story of each cryptid researched and written by me – allowing the legends to live on.

The story of the Goatman dates back to the 1950s, as recounted by a local hunter driving along the desolate back roads of Cherryfield. His truck sputtered to a stop as his gas tank read empty. To his terror, a mysterious satyr-like creature greeted him in the middle of the road. With legs shaped like a goat, the beast’s upper body appeared human, cloaked only in a flannel shirt. The horned half-man flashed the traveler a wry smile before scurrying back into the woods.
